Proud na proud si Mark Herras sa pelikulang Hitman ni Cesar Montano dahil marami siyang natatanggap na papuri sa magandang performance niya sa pelikulang palabas pa rin sa mga sinehan hanggang ngayon.

Kahit may mga nagsasabing naapi siya sa billing, siya ang nag-moment nang bonggang-bongga bago ito mag-end.

Kaya parang na-inspire si Mark na gumawa pa ng action movie. Sana makapagbida siya ng isang action film na ididirek ni Cesar Montano.

Batay sa average household data sa National Urban Philippines mula Pebrero 6 hanggang Pebrero 17, ang programa ay nakapagrehistro ng 38.3 share points. Ito ang bumubuo sa 77 porsiyento ng kabuuang television household sa buong bansa.

Patuloy ang pamamayagpag ng Broken Vow sa Mega Manila na bumubuo sa 56 porsiyento ng kabuuang television household sa buong bansa.

Ang laki nang pasasalamat ni Manila councilor Yul Servo na hindi sabay ang taping niya ng Biri­tera sa session nila dahil kung nagkataon, hindi niya matatanggap ang family drama ng GMA 7. Kris Aquino at Ruffa Gutierrez kinalimutan na ang away na kababawan lang ang pinagmulan !

Noong Biyernes ay isang engrandeng pagtitipon ng mga pinakasikat na celebrities ang ginanap para gunitain ang ika-dalawampu’t anim anibersaryo ng 1986 EDSA People Power Revolution.

Naghandog sila ng isang libreng concert para sa mga kababayan natin sa pangunguna ni Ogie Alcasid. Muling nasaksihan ang pagsasama nina Kris Aquino at Ruffa Gutierrez dahil sila ang mga tumayong hosts sa nasabing event kasama pa ang isa pa nilang kaibigan na si AiAi delas Alas.

Matatandaang nagkaroon nang hindi pagkakauna­waan sina Kris at Ruffa noong isang taon at mula noon ay hindi na nila napag-usapan kung anuman ang naging problema nila. Nagkita na rin ang dalawa sa isang event sa Resorts World kamakailan pero simpleng hi at hello lang ang nangyari sa kanila noon. Sa muli nilang pagsasama noong Biyernes ay tuluyan nang nagkaayos at nagkapatawaran na sina Ruffa at Kris.

“All is well that ends well, and I’m happy kasi I mean effort ’yung ginawa ni Ruffa to be here tonight and I’m so appreciative of that effort,” nakangiting pahayag ni Kris.

Pahayag naman ni Ruffa, “Umiyak-iyak ako kanina dahil hindi naman kami talaga nakapag-usap since that incident. Sabi ko sa kanya, ‘Uy! Kris sorry ha? Hindi ko naman talaga alam na may pinagdadaanan ka pala noon ’di ba?’”

Inamin din ng dalawa na kinalimutan na nila ang hindi pagkakaunawaan dati. Matagal na rin kasi silang magkakilala at kababawan lamang ang naging dahilan ng kanilang tampuhan. Lumaki ang isyu sa pagitan ng dalawang uncoupled celeb na dahil sa kasagsagan ng kampanya at eleksiyon noon.

Masayang-masaya ang dalawa dahil mu­ling nanumbalik ang kanilang friendship. Nagkabiruan pa sina Ruffa at Kris na pareho kasi silang mabait kaya nangyari ito sa kanila.

“Ito, walang halong any ka-plastikan or pagpapa-cute or whatever kasi we’re at that point in our lives na, the past is behind us. Okay ang present. We can look forward to the future,” sabi ni Kris.

Pagkatapos ng concert ay nag-post pa ng mga messages sina Ruffa at Kris sa kani-kanilang Twitter account kung gaano sila kasaya sa katatapos lamang nilang pagkikita.

Jennylyn Mercado balik Regal!

 I’m happy to be back in Regal,’ said Jennylyn Mercado (shown with Regal Matriarch Mother Lily Monteverde, right, and daughter Roselle Monteverde-Teo, far right) after she signed a contract with Regal Films which has lined up two projects for her a drama for Mother’s Day and a horror-thriller.

‘I’m actually Balik-Regal,’ added Jennylyn who won an Audience Award for Best Actress for Blue Moon which she did for Regal for the Metro Filmfest a few years back.

Now going steady with Luis Manzano, Jennylyn said that she’s open to the possibility of working with ex-boyfriend Dennis Trillo whose stock as an actor also got a big boost from Regal which cast him in Aishite Imasu as a cross-dresser that won him an award. She said she’s even willing to co-star with Luis.

‘Why not?’ said Mother Lily, seconded by Roselle. ‘Good idea.’

Meanwhile, Jennylyn plans to take up Culinary Arts to further hone her cooking talent.

‘Yes,’ she smiled, ‘I cook for Luis. He’s not pihikan so simple dishes make him happy na.’

TV5 gets 2 finalist slots at the NY fest!

After its impressive finish in the Asian TV Awards late last year, TV5 is gunning for international recognition yet again as it earned two nods at the prestigious New York Festivals TV and Film Awards scheduled in April.

Wanted – Child Special (hosted by Raffy Tulfo, far right) is a finalist at the Community Service Programs category, whileNEWS5 Debates – Hamon sa Pagbabago (A Challenge For Change) hosted by NEWS5 chief Luchi Cruz-Valdes and Dong Puno (left), and Paolo Bediones is listed at the Politics category.

The two Kapatid programs from the network’s news and information division will be competing with other programs from over 40 countries.

Since its major relaunch last March 2010, the Kapatid Network has been on a winning streak in terms of viewership and recognitions — most notable of which was its Asian TV Awards trophy for Star Confessions last December 2011.

Al Galang admits he wrote a love letter for Dr. Vicki Belo!

Kahapon ay nagpaunlak ng panayam sa The Buzz si Al Galang, ang yoga instructor ni Dr.Vicki Belo na iniuugnay ngayon sa kanya. Sinagot naman lahat ng kontrobersyal na former model ang mga intriga ipinupukol sa kanya.

Unang itinanong kay Al ay ang isyu kung may relasyon ba sila ni Vicki matapos sabihin ng dating boyfriend ng doktora na si Hayden Kho na hindi siya dapat ang kinukuwestyon pagdating sa katapatan. Nauna kasing inakusahan ni Dr. Vicki si Hayden ng infidelity nang sabihin niya sa kanyang Twitter account na nagdi-date umano sina Hayden at Nancy Castiglione. Inilabas din ni Hayden sa kanyang Twitter ang link kung saan may scan ng love-letter diumano ni Al kay Vicki. “Vicki and I do not have a romantic relationship, I’d like to clarify that. We’re both single, I’m single, she’s probably single, there really is no relationship right now,” ani Al.

Mabilis namang umamin si Al na talagang may pagtingin siya sa doktora. “Of course. You can’t help but feel intrigued or attracted to someone as attractive as funny and smart (as Vicki).” Tinanong Si Al ng The Buzz host na si Boy Abunda kung interesado ba siyang ligawan si Vicki pero sabi nito wala pa naman daw sa puntong nililigawan na niya si Vicki. “Because she’s single and not ready to mingle,” paliwanag pa ni Al. At sa tanong kung gugustuhin ba niyang ligawan, sabi ni Al ay ‘complete package’ naman daw si Vicki. “I sure could. She’s the kind of girl I would like. Again, she’s a complete package of anything.”

Sinagot din ng yoga instructor ang isyung ginagamit lang daw niya si Vicki para sumikat at magkaroon ng pagkakataon upang mapasok ang showbiz. “That would be a stupid gimmick because I have no interest of joining showbiz,” sagot niya. “Maybe the time before (I entertained the idea). I wanted to be somewhere (so) I did radio, I did modeling. But that was five, six years ago, and the idea was nice and I realized ang daming talentedna tao sa Pilipinas. Everybody is so beautiful…the actors, they’re so talented. Everybody can sing, I can’t even speak Tagalog. I let showbiz go and do what I do. I love what I do, I make software, I teach yoga, I have a studio.”

Alam din daw ni Vicki ang paglabas niya sa The Buzz dahil kinonsulta muna raw niya ito bago siya umoo sa paanyaya ng programa. “I asked her before in passing, ‘Are you (comfy) talking about this because everybody’s bothering you,’ and she’s cool with it.”

Hindi rin daw siya nabagabag nang isangkot siya ni Hayden sa issue. Aniya pa, nauunawaan daw niya ang reaksyon ni Hayden na idamay siya sa isyu dahil sa pinagdadaanan nito na siya namang nagbunsod ng pagkalat ng isyu. Nagkakilala na raw sila noon ni Hayden at sa katunayan ay nagkapalitan pa ng cellphone numbers.

Inako rin ni Al na sinulat niya ang “love-letter” para kay Vicki. Subalit pagtatanggol niya, “I did write that. It’s sort of a fun, kind of crush letter thing. Back then, we had some flirting going on. No malice, walang tension and it just kinda faded there.” Tinawag rin niyang harmless flirting ang ginawa niyang liham para kay Vicki.

Nang magkomento si Boy na kung babasahin niya ang liham ay serious flirting ito, ang sagot naman dito ni Al, “I guess sometimes I can be kinda a flirt, but really nothing serious.” Dagdag pa niya, hindi raw sinuklian ni Vicki ang pagpi-flirt niya pero naging mabuting kaibigan sa kanya ang doktora at consistent ito. “We’re good. I’m a friend and I got her back and she knows that,” paglalarawan pa ni Al sa pagkakaibigan nila ni Vicki.

Sa ngayon supportive si Al sa pinagdadaanan ni Vicki at pinaparating niya rito na handa siyang making kung kakailanganin niya ito. Ang gusto muna niya ngayon para sa doktora ay makapag-move on. Naniniwala rin daw siya na tapos na ang relasyon nina Vicki at Hayden. Ang makahulugan pa niyang pahayag hinggil kay Vicki, “I think she’d be better off as an independent woman.”

'Imortal' Online wins Anvil Award!

ABS-CBN bagged four recognitions from the 47th Anvil Awards, including one for its groundbreaking "Imortal Online" project.

"Imortal Online," which was initiated by the ABS-CBN Digital Brand Management, was cited for how it engaged fans of the TV series “Imortal,” topbilled by Angel Locsin and John Lloyd Cruz, in the online world via an originally produced web series, artwork contests, and other user-generated content.

It drew a remarkable following of 275,593 registered users in its first three months and reached up to 15 million page views in the same time period.

"Imortal Online" was a big hit because of its original web episodes dubbed “Anino’t Panaginip” that featured sub-plots of the story of Lia and Mateo, the main characters of "Imortal" TV series. A total of 24 webisodes were exclusively produced and the site is set to produce new episodes this year.

Through its artwork contest “Likhang Imortal,” netizens were able to showcase their creative talents online by making their own “Imortal” characters. Out of a total of 12,397 entries, "Imortal Online" picked 30 finalists and the entry which topped online votes was awarded a P50,000 cash prize.

Aside from artworks, the site also encouraged users to send in their original stories via “Kuwentong Imortal” and select entries were transformed into an animated online manga in the section “I-mortal.”

ABS-CBN’s radio AM station DZMM Radyo Patrol 630 and cable TV channel DZMM TeleRadyo, on the other hand, won two Anvils for its Teaching, Learning, Caring classroom and clinic on wheels or TLC and its innovative strategies and initiatives.

TLC offered storytelling sessions, while offering medical check-ups to almost 30,000 individuals since its launch back in November 2010.

The DZMM TeleRadyo was recognized for its achievements in expanding its viewership, creating innovative approaches for its advertisers that led to higher ad revenues for the station, and increasing subscription revenues by getting more cable TV operators to carry the station nationwide.

Meanwhile, Tambayan 101.9 also took home an Anvil award for its annual Tambayan 101.9 OPM Awards (TOPMA).

The TOPMA successfully paid tribute to Filipino music artists by honoring original Pinoy music. It also engaged its listeners and provided an avenue for its DJs to interact with them during the awarding event.

ABS-CBN bagged the most number of Anvil awards among TV networks with four recognitions as compared to GMA’s three and TV5’s one.

The Anvil Awards is an annual event organized by the Public Relations Society of the Philippines that honors outstanding public relations programs and tools.

Prior to the Anvil Awards, ABS-CBN earned four recognitions for its PR programs from the Philippine Quill Awards given by the International Association of Business Communicators. ABS-CBN was the most-awarded TV network in both Anvil and Quill Awards that honor the best works in public relations and business communications.

GMA's entertainment chief Wilma Galvante retires

Broadcast executive Wilma V. Galvante has retired from GMA Network.

Listed GMA Network said the retirement of Galvante, its Senior Vice President for Entertainment, was effective on Friday, February 24.

"Due to the Company's policy on compulsory retirement, our Senior Vice President for Entertainment Wilma V. Galvante will be retiring effective today," GMA said in its disclosure to the stock exchange. "

She produced many TV shows and was behind the singing contest, Ang Bagong Kampeon (The New Champion), which kick-started other talent shows. She was also produced the TV series Mulawin, Darna, and Captain Barbell, and reality shows like Celebrity Duets: Philippine Edition

Gretchen Barretto to work with Kathryn Bernardo in 'Princess and I'!

While she cried over the cancellation of the television show “Alta,” actress Gretchen Barretto was elated to announce that she will be starring in another television series.

In an interview with “The Buzz” aired on Sunday, Barretto said she will play the role of a queen in the upcoming series.

“Ito ang pinapangarap sa buong buhay ko, maging reyna. Hindi ko inakala na talagang someday magiging queen ako. Ito na iyong ilusyon ko,” she said.

The show will be titled “Princess and I” where she will be working with actress Kathryn Bernardo and actor Enrique Gil.

“It’s challenging... may pinaghuhugutan, may pinanggagalingan. There’s no other role that I want to play,” she said.

Meanwhile, the actress is hoping that people would also watch “Princess and I” the way viewers anticipated “Magkaribal” before.

“I hope the people will love ‘Princess and I’ the way they loved ‘Magkaribal’ or even more,” she said.

Iza Calzado has wardrobe malfunction on 'ASAP'!

The show must go on for actress Iza Calzado after she suffered from a wardrobe malfunction during her production number on “ASAP 2012” on Sunday.

Calzado’s black leggings was torn after she did a split while dancing.

Calzado, however, still pulled off the dance number without minding the wardrobe malfunction.

In her official Twitter account on Sunday, Calzado said she’s still thankful that her production number was about to end when the incident happened.

“Omg!!!!!!!! Major wardrobe malfunction! My leggings ripped when I did my split! Buti na lang no more lifts after :p Thankful for wide shots,” she said.

Calzado also thanked Johnny Manahan, who is the director of “ASAP,” for taking wide camera shots.

“Sabi nga sa akin Ng Tatay Ko.. "The show MUST go on!!!" I'm really glad the shot was far. Thank you God and thank you Mr. M,” she said.

Meanwhile, the netizens lauded the actress for still finishing the dance number.

ABS-CBN big winner at 10th Gawad Tanglaw!

ABS-CBN was the big winner in the 10th Gawad Tanglaw or Tagapuring mga Akademisyan ng Aninong Gumagalaw, which hands out trophies to outstanding movies, TV shows, and radio shows annually.

ABS-CBN won 14 trophies in television arts, including the coveted TV Station of the Year.

“Bandila” was selected as Best News Program, while its anchor Julius Babao was named Best Male News Program Anchor.

“Matanglawin” was named Best Educational TV Program, while “The Bottom Line” won as Best Public Affairs Program.

“Umagang Kay Ganda” was named “Best Morning Show,” and “Sports Unlimited” won as “Best News Program.”

Three shows of ANC also emerged victorious: “Storyline” (Best TV Documentary), “Travel Time” (Best Travel Show) and “Executive Class” (Best Lifestyle Program).

ABS-CBN’s entertainment shows made a sweep in their respective categories, with “ASAP” winning Best Variety Show and “Maalaala Mo Kaya” (MMK) named as “Best Drama Anthology.”

MMK’s episode “Parol” also won acting awards for Helen Gamboa and Enchong Dee.

The Best Drama Series award went to “100 Days to Heaven,” which also won a Best Actress trophy for child star Xyriel Manabat.

Coco Martin received the Best Actor award for “Minsan Lang Kita Iibigin.”

In radio arts, DZMM was named Best AM Station, while Bro. Jun “Dr. Love” Banaag was selected Best Radio DJ.

The indie hit “Ang Babae sa Septik Tank” won most of the major awards in the film arts, including Best Picture, Best Actress for lead star Eugene Domingo, Best Director for Marlon Rivera and Best Screenplay for Chris Martinez.

Martin Escudero was named Best Actor for “Zombadings: Patayin sa Shokot si Remington,” while his co-star Kerbie Zamora won as Best Supporting Actor for the same movie.

The Best Supporting Actress award went to Fides Cuyugan Asencio for “Niño.”

Pamilya ni Daiana Menezez sa Brazil, mayaman!

Maganda ang pasok ang 2012 sa Brazilian model at Eat Bulaga! junior host na si Daiana Menezes kaya naman inspirado siya sa pagtatrabaho. Isa sa blessing na dumating sa kanya ay ang pagiging endorser ng isang brand ng biscuit at meron pang ibang naka-line up na TV commercials na gagawin niya.

Rayver Cruz ayaw magpapilit mag-guest sa show ni Sarah Geronimo!

Noong isang Linggo ay game na game na si­nagot ni Sarah Geronimo ang tanong sa kanya ni Vice Ganda sa Gandang Gabi Vice. Tungkol ito sa kung ano ang gagawin ng Pop Princess kung sakaling mabibigyan siya ng pagkakataong komprontahin si Rayver Cruz na naugnay sa kanya noon.

“’Di ba sabi ko naman sa ’yo maging honest ka lang then I will let you go. I want you to be happy. ’Yun lang,” nakangiting sagot ni Sarah.

Nagbigay naman si Rayver ng kanyang reaksiyon tungkol sa naging pahayag ni Sarah. Ayon sa binata ay wala nang isyu sa pagitan nilang dalawa.

“Oo, dati hindi eh. Okay naman na kasi lahat eh. Alam mong okay na lahat. Ang tagal na nun eh, pinipilit lang ibalik ng iba pero ang totoo masaya na lahat. Ramdam ko naman na lahat masaya na,” nakangiting pahayag ni Rayver.

Papayag kayang mag-guest ang binata sa bagong show ni Sarah na Sarah G. Live kung sakaling maimbitahan siya?

“Actually, walang problema kasi tapos na ’yun. Past is past ’di ba? Naka-move on na lahat pero tama ’yung sinabi ni Cristine (Reyes) na kung marami pang masasabi ’yung ibang tao and kung hindi naman maganda ang sasabihin nila, ’wag na muna nating pilitin.

“Okay kaming tatlo, sila ni Cristine okay na okay din sila, pero ’yung mga tao sa paligid, kung may sasabihin lang na hindi maganda, huwag na muna nating ipilit,” paliwanag ni Rayver.

Sarah Geronimo goes 'daring'!

It’s not every day that an artist as young as Sarah Geronimo gets her own musical-variety show titled Sarah G. Live. Then again, Sarah is not like any other artist. She’s in a class of her own, evolving from being a 15-year-old singing champ into a successful triple threat as a recording artist, performer and actress. Now, she gets to do serious hosting, too, in her solo show on ABS-CBN every Sunday night, and she’d be the first to admit that it’s a huge responsibility on her plate.

Sarah readily acknowledged that the hosting aspect of the show will be a novel experience for her, and that she will treat Sarah G. Live as a form of “training ground.” “I don’t want to pretend to be someone I’m not. I’ll just be myself. Like di naman ako fluent sa English, pero kung may foreign guest, then I’ll get an interpreter!” Sarah mused.

Of course, Sarah might be trying to downplay expectations of her as a host, but it’s not hard to agree to what she believes will work to her advantage — her openness. “It’s not just any musical-variety show. There’s a lot I can share with the audience. You know me. Napapagalitan nga ako, kasi tuma-tactless because I share with you almost everything. But I’m not afraid to do it because I think that’s what the people like about me, my being open with them,” she said.

Other things to look forward to are concert-level performances and collaborations with other artists. She said, “I want to maximize what I have, do other genres like rock, rap… I want to be more adventurous.”

According to Sarah G. Live director Erick Salud, Sarah will do about five songs every week (along with several costume changes) including a finale number that will segue to “Sarah speaking from the heart.”

G-Force’s Georcelle Dapat-Sy, the show’s choreographer, also said that whatever dance numbers Sarah will deliver here will take a markedly different turn from the production numbers she used to do in the Sunday variety show ASAP, where Sarah’s dancing skills were first showcased and polished. Meantime, Sarah is taking a temporary leave from ASAP to focus her energies on the new show.

“I’m turning 24 this July (so) I hope I’ll mature in all aspects (through the show),” shared Sarah. “I want to see myself mature as a performer.”

The famously wholesome Sarah gave out a laugh and said that being daring doesn’t necessarily mean she will be baring more skin in the show. Performing stunts, yes — “I don’t mind being thrown into the air if the performance requires it,” she said.

She added, “Daring (could also mean) being more open with (my feelings) with the people — that I also get hurt, that I also get angry, na may kabaliwan din ako. If you ask me, it’s already like getting stripped in front of you, although not literally.”

Meanwhile, Sarah was also asked for a reaction on the shocking death of Whitney Houston, arguably an idol of many a singer around the world. She said she grew up looking up to Whitney and singing her songs, so much so she couldn’t help but get a bit emotional when she said that what happened to Whitney’s life is a cautionary tale for her. “It’s so sad. That’s my fear, to get to that point. Fame is fleeting, also power. It’s such a waste, (she had) her pure talent. Siya yung nanduduon na, pero nawala... That’s why the family is so important. Learn not to take them for granted because they will be the ones to guide you and will be honest enough to tell you if you’ve done something wrong. That’s what I treasure now, my family, because even if we have misunderstandings, I know they will not leave me.”

Also joining Sarah in Sarah G. Live, which premieres tomorrow, Feb. 23 after Rated K, are Luis Manzano as co-host, Louie Ocampo as musical director, G-Force and Gab Valenciano as dance performers, plus special guest co-host every week.

Erich Gonzales says she is excited about shooting her movie with Mario Maurer in Thailand.

As her afternoon series Maria la Del Barrio wraps up this month, Erich Gonzales admitted she is already excited to start her next project, a movie titledSuddenly It’s Magic with Thai heartthrob Mario Maurer which will be shot in Manila and Thailand. “Right afterMaria la Del Barrio, tatapusin ko lang yung Corazonand then may Hawaii tour kami for Star Magic. Then I’ll shoot a commercial in Bangkok. And then pagbalik na pagbalik ko, magshu-shoot kami dito muna sa bansa for the movie and then yun sa Bangkok naman kami hanggang sa matapos yung entire film,” she said.

Erich said she is excited at the chance to be able to do a movie abroad for the very first time. “It’s not my first time sa Bangkok dahil pumupunta ako dun for pictorials and other shoots. To work there for a movie, this is my first time. I’m very excited dahil I know for a fact na this is a big project talaga and I’m very thankful to Star Cinema dahil binigyan nila ako ng ganitong pagkakataon. I’m just excited and at the same time yung pressure nafi-feel ko na siya ngayon pa lang. So I’m really hoping na suportahan ng mga tao yung movie na gagawin namin ni Mario,” she told Push.com.ph.

In fact, Erich admitted she has yet to get over the feeling of starring in an international movie project. “Hindi pa talaga sa akin nagsi-sink in totally yung mga nangyayari ngayon, parang ang bilis-bilis, andiyan na kaagad. I'm excited but at the same time pressured din talaga. Yung kaba sobra, kinakabahan talaga ako pero mas kakabahan ako kung hindi ako kakabahan ‘di ba? Iba naman yung ganun kung walang feelings, parang walang pakialam,” she explained.

For Suddenly It’s Magic, Erich divulged that she will take baking lessons and will also learn how to speak in Thai! “I'm going to learn how to bake kasi doon sa story parang owner ako ng isang pastry shop, mga pastriesganyan,” she added.

Although Erich has yet to spend more time with Mario, she was really happy to be paired up with him. “When I met him, sobrang bait nya talaga. Napaka-sincere, napaka-bait and ang cute cute niya! Sobrang charmingtalaga. Walang ka-ere ere and alam ko magiging masaya yung shooting namin. When I met Mario our director was also there also so parang yung time na yun parang bonding na rin kahit konti. Basta pag nag-start yungmovie we’ll get to know each other better pa para wala ng ilangan sa mga scenes,” she told Push.com.ph.

Erich also said that people will enjoy the storyline of Suddenly It’s Magic. “Nung nag-meeting kami, napag-usapan namin yung story. Napakaganda nung story. Love story siya and very light lang. Dito mapapaisip ka ngwhat are you going to choose ba, kumbaga the one you love or your career or dream?” she shared.

Ruffa Gutierrez -Yilmaz Bektas marriage annulled!

Television host Ruffa Gutierrez is now officially single after her marriage to Turkish businessman Yilmaz Bektas has been annulled.

"The petition for the declaration of the nullity of marriage which we filed on behalf of our client, Ms. Ruffa Gutierrez, against her husband, Yilmaz Bektas, has finally been granted by the Regional Trial Court of Taguig City, declaring the same to be null and void under Article 36 of the Family Code last January 17, 2011," lawyers Howard Calleja and Connie Aquino of the Calleja Law Office, who served as Gutierrez' legal counsel, said in a statement sent to ABS-CBN News.

The custody of their two children, Lorin and Venice, was also awarded to Gutierrez.

In a taped episode of "Kris TV" aired on Friday, Gutierrez' mother Annabelle Rama said she is happy that her daughter is not in a romantic relationship right now.

"Career muna at sa mga bata. Ngayon, stop muna. Wala siyang boyfriend ngayon," Rama said. "Happy ako kasi mayroon siyang more time for her two children."

It was in 2007 when Gutierrez admitted that she and Bektas have parted ways. Rama said, however, that Lorin and Venice are still in contact with their father.

After Bektas, Gutierrez was romantically linked to actor John Lloyd Cruz, who is currently in a relationship with Shaina Magdayao.

Actress-comedienne Pokwang said she enjoys working with Star for All Seasons and Batangas Governor Vilma Santos.

On Twitter, Pokwang even shared her happiness with television host Luis Manzano, Santos' son.

"@luckymanzano Luis!! Grabe si mommy Vilma mo tataba kami sa shooting namin laging maraming food! Kakaloka!!" she told Manzano on the microblogging site.

Santos and Pokwang are part of Star Cinema's newest film titled "The Healing," which is directed by Chito S. Roño.

The film also stars Kim Chiu, Martin del Rosario, Mark Gil and Janice de Belen.

Meanwhile, Pokwang will hold a comedy show at the Music Museum on March 16 and 17 with K Brosas, Pooh and Chokoleit.

Enchong Dee denies alleged rift with Erich Gonzales!

Enchong Dee aired his side on the issue that he andMaria La Del Barrio leading lady Erich Gonzales are allegedly not on good terms. He denied that they treat each other immediately coldly off cam.

The model-actor clarified, “Siguro people were expecting na pag-cut na ‘yung eksena ganon pa rin kami [kadikit] sa isa’t-isa, pero siyempre kailangan din namin aralin kung ano man ‘yung ibinigay sa amin na trabaho and ‘yun ‘yung talagang ipinunta namin dun.” He went on to say that people should not expect them to be always together even after the work is over, that people should not assume that they are not on speaking terms just because they are not always seen together. “We understand each other,” Enchong emphasized.

The model-actor continued that he and Erich have developed an understanding where they are able to discuss matters and resolve differences immediately. “Sabi ko nga, siguro the things that make our relationship even more colorful or sweeter is because kung ano man ‘yung hindi namin napagkakaunawaan, naaayos naming dalawa. That’s our advantage, kumbaga edgenamin kung bakit nagla-last ‘yung love team.”

Meanwhile, Maria La Del Barrio is down to its last few episodes but Enchong is grateful that it continues to enjoy a strong reception from viewers. “Nilatag sa amin ‘yung mga good things na nangyari while doing [the show],andami nilang napakita sa amin and we’re very happy. Hindi lang ‘yung ratings ang basehan kundi pati online,pag-trending sa Twitter, sa Facebook, pinag-uusapan siya, kaya alam namin na maraming nanonood.

“Hanggang ngayon ang tataas pa rin ng eksena, ‘yung mga problema na nangyayari sa kanila, nae-excite ako sa resolution kasi hanggang ngayon mainit pa rin si Sabrina (Jewel Mische) at Maria (Erich) e. Paano kaya nila ito mare-resolve in the (last few episodes).”

Enchong admitted that the show helped them to mature a lot as actors because they played roles way ahead of their real age. “Sobrang advanced namin for our age, nakakagawa na kami ng role na may anak na kami na tumatakbo na, nagsasalita na, nagri-reason out na. Kumbaga, we’re lucky that nabigyan kami nung gano’ng pagkakataon.”

The show also has also been beneficial for them because they learned some important life lessons. For instance, for Enchong, he was able to understand relationships better because of the teleserye. “Huwag natin pasukin ang isang relasyon kung alam nating half-hearted tayo o hindi talaga natin mahal ‘yung taong pakakasalan natin? Let’s make the right decisions for the right reasons.”

A1 to stage concert in Manila!

The British-Norwegian pop group A1 arrives in Manila today for a concert.

The boy band, composed of Mark Read, Ben Adams and Christian Ingebrigtsen, is known for hits like "Heaven By Your Side" and "Like A Rose."

A1 joins boy band Blue and Jeff Timmons of 98 Degress in the concert "The Greatest Hits Tour" at the Araneta Coliseum on February 25.

Before going to Manila, the group stayed in Cebu.

"A1 fever back in the Philippines. loving my time over here. :)," Adams added.

Meanwhile, in his official Twitter account, Timmons said he is already in the country.

"Just got to Manila. So excited! ;p," he tweeted.

Gerald Anderson to take short break after 'Budoy'!

Actor Gerald Anderson will be taking a short break after his hit television series "Budoy."

"Magpapahinga muna ako kasi last year pa ako nagte-taping ng Budoy," Anderson said.

The actor said that he's still undecided where to take a rest but he was quick to announce that he will be back soon to fulfill his other showbiz commitments.

"May tour kami ng Star Magic abroad. March hanggang April kami doon," Anderson said.

In 2010, Anderson fainted due to hyperventilation for overfatigue. He was then doing "ASAP" and the series "Kung Tayo'y Magkakalayo" with Kim Chiu.

Anderson is now wrapping up the final two weeks of "Budoy."

Grace Lee stays, Angelicopter fired at Magic 89.9

The management of radio station Magic 89.9 clarified reports that Korean TV and radio personality Grace Lee, who's now seeing President Benigno Aquino III, is the reason DJ Angelicopter, the host of their program "Good Times," was fired.

In a statement posted on their official Facebook account, the station admitted that Lee and Angelicopter, or Angelika Schmeing-Cruz in real life, had a misunderstanding but stressed that Cruz's overall performance was the reason she was terminated from the radio show.

Magic 89.9 also stressed that it didn't favor Lee over Cruz.

"Recently, an article came out on Pep.PH which featured an interview with former Magic 89.9 jock Angelika 'Angelicopter' Schmeing-Cruz. In the article, it was alleged that it was a misunderstanding between her and 'Good Times' jock Grace Lee that caused her termination from the station. It is true that there was a misunderstanding between the two ladies," the statement said.

"Admittedly, conflicts happen between jocks in radio shows specially in a high pressured show like 'Good Times.' However, it was NOT the reason Mrs. Schmeing Cruz was terminated. Her attention has been called several times due to internal issues. It was a matter decided after an on going assessment of her overall performance. Magic 89.9 has a culture of giving as many chances as possible provided those concerned show the capacity to improve their craft both off and on air. We're saddened that it had to come to this."

In her official Twitter account, Lee thanked her bosses for their support.

"Station didn't have to... But thank you boss RT @stationguy899: To those askingRT @Magic899 Magic's Official Statement. http://fb.me/1c83zPHIk," Lee tweeted.

Fil-Am Jessica Sanchez makes Top 24 of 'Idol'!

Another Filipina has made it to the Top 24 this year’s “American Idol.”

On Wednesday’s (Thursday morning in Manila) episode of the reality singing competition, Filipino-Mexican Jessica Sanchez was among the 14 contestants who made it to the Top 24.

The 16-year-old from Chula Vista, California was shown singing “The Prayer” by Josh Groban and Celine Dion during the auditions.

Netizens were ecstatic by the youngster’s talent.

Popular “Idol” blogger Rickey (www.rickey.org) wrote: “‘Idol’ just discovered the new Charice! Amazing! I’m so happy Filipino readers are going to support my blog again. Mabuhay!”

Twitter user Natalie Grant said: “OK - so I'm watching American Idol for the 1st time this season but this 16 year old Jessica Sanchez girl blows my mind. What a TALENT. Wow.”

Another Twitter user Q94jackson gushed: “She is the freaking winner !!! I'm sorry but she just made me cry and shiver and everything that music is suppose to do!”

The New York-based newspaper Newsday said Sanchez appears to be an early favorite to win the contest.

“Jessica Sanchez might be the favorite right now to win it all; you have to listen when she sings, something compelling about her powerful voice. She's also got complete control and a burning desire,” the newspaper wrote on Wednesday.

For the past several seasons, male contestants have always emerged on top. The last female “American Idol” winner was Jordin Sparks back in Season 6.

‘America’s Got Talent’

In a video posted on the “American Idol” website, Sanchez said she has wanted to join the contest since watching Kelly Clarkson win Season 1. Sanchez was only five years old at that time.

“I’ve been singing my whole life. My love for singing is what brought me here,” said Sanchez, who said Jennifer Hudson is her favorite “Idol” contestant.

Sanchez, who has been singing songs of Whitney Houston and Celine Dion since she was a little girl, said she likes R&B, urban and soul music,

“My tone is a lot different from the others,” she said, when asked what sets her apart from the other contestants.

This is not the first time Sanchez has joined a talent search. She was only 12 years old when she tried out for the first season of “America’s Got Talent.” Sanchez did not make it past the first voting round, and 11-year-old Bianca Ryan went on to win the show.

“I believe, I feel like I have something different,” Sanchez said in her “Idol” video. “I’m ready to bring it.”

Robles cut

This season of “Idol” also showcased another Filipino-American Ashley Robles, who was a standout at the San Diego auditions, where she sang Houston’s “I Will Always Love You.”

Robles, however, was cut during the Las Vegas rounds last week.

Also making it to the Top 24 were: Jen Hirsh, Haley Johnson, Elise Testone, Erika Van Pelt, Chelsea Sorrell, Baylie Brown, Brielle Von Hugel, Creighton Fraker, Joshua Ledet, Reed Grimm, Phil Phillips Jr., Collton Dixon and another Asian-American Heejun Han.

Gawad Geny Lopez Jr. Bayaning Pilipino Awards go global!

The Gawad Geny Lopez Jr. Global Bayaning Pilipino Awards, which seek to recognize outstanding Filipino organizations overseas, kicked off this month.

This is the first time for the awards to go global as it searches for Filipino organizations doing extraordinary service to their fellow Filipinos in the U.S., Canada, Middle East, Australia, Japan, Asia-Pacific (Singapore and Hong Kong), and Europe (Italy and United Kingdom).

"It is a huge and momentous initiative to reach out to Filipinos all over the world and recognize their collective efforts in serving their less fortunate Filipino brothers and sisters wherever they may be. We are truly excited by this development,” said Fr. Nilo Tanalega, SJ, head of the Ugnayan at Tulong para sa Maralitang Pamilya (UGAT) Foundation. The Philippine-based UGAT oversees the screening of nominations and selects the winners.

The awards are named after Don Eugenio "Geny" Lopez Jr., founder of ABS-CBN Corporation, the largest entertainment and broadcasting company in the Philippines, and known as the "Father of Philippine Broadcasting”.

The awards were established in 1994 after he learned of a Filipina maid in Hong Kong who got run over by a car as she tried to save a child. It recognizes Filipino organizations, who in the face of challenges and difficulties manage to rise and emerge as role models of service in their communities.

"My father would be smiling right now," said Raffy Lopez, COO of ABS-CBN Global, which oversees the promotion and production of the award ceremonies.

"He started Bayaning Pilipino (Filipino Heroes) with Father Nilo. It would warm his heart to know that ABS-CBN in Manila, TFC globally and UGAT, have expanded their long-running partnership to search around the world for ordinary folks doing extraordinary work in the service of the Filipino people. This is true to his vision and mission," he added.

"We have honored so many Filipinos, but taking the search to a worldwide level posed major logistical requirements. We are so enthused by the energy and commitment of TFC teams in all regions in taking part in the project. It shows their involvement and love for the Filipino communities that they serve," said Chit Guerrero, vice president for ABS-CBN Corporation’s Special Projects.

Anne Curtis, Gretchen Barretto , Vhong Navarro in mag's best dressed list!

Kapamilya stars dominated YES! Magazine's 10 Best Dressed Stars list, which is featured in the magazine's March 2012 issue.

Leading the pack is "It's Showtime" host Anne Curtis, who was wearing a black see-through top on the cover of the magazine.

Curtis said she is honored to be included in the list. "They call me the chameleon dahil iba-iba ang itsura ko, but this is all hard work," she said. "Wow, thanks I am in good company."

Other stars who made it to the list include Gretchen Barretto and Dawn Zulueta, who had a rift sometime in 2006; and younger stars Kim Chiu, John Lloyd Cruz and Piolo Pascual.

But it was the inclusion of comedians Vice Ganda and Vhong Navarro in the list that caught every one by surprise -- including the two stars themselves.

"Nagulat ako," Navarro admitted. "Mabuti naman napansin din ako kasi kinakarir ko talaga pananamit."
