Enrique Gil hopes career keeps its momentum.

The big projects didn’t come easy and didn’t come quick, “Budoy” actor Enrique Gil said.

When he was starting out as an actor, Gil had more waiting time than he had actual roles.

“Nung time na nagsimula ako, super nawalan ako ng mga shows, dapat kasama ako [sa mga shows] tapos maka-cancel ‘yung role ko,” Gil said in an interview with Push.com.ph. “Naka-cancel ‘yung role, ‘yung character ko.”

When his role as BJ in primetime series “Budoy” came along, which Gil said is his most “demanding” and most loved to date, the young actor made it a point to understand the character so he can portray him effectively.

“Super ramdam ko ‘yung character, nung nag-start medyo kinakapa ko pa, nung nag-transition na three weeks nakuha ko na agad,” Gil said.

After “Budoy,” Gil is set to star with Kathryn Bernardo in the new series “You’re Always In My Heart.”

He's also part of Star Cinema's upcoming film "Reunion" with young actors Xian Lim, Enchong Dee and Kean Cipriano.

These new projects, Gil credited to hard work and proper timing.

“Kung gagawin mong maayos ang trabaho mo, makikita nila ‘yung galing mo. They will get you for the next project. Siguro my hard work, ‘yung paghihintay ko it’s slowly paying off, sana dire-diretso,” he said.
