Boy Abunda could not hide his disappointment after American singer James Ingram failed to appear in his "Ikaw Na" segment on "Bandila" last night. He said the singer cancelled his appearance because he was already tired. As a fan of Ingram, he said he was hurt when the singer decided not to show up.
"Opo mga kaibigan. He (Ingram) was supposed to be here, scheduled sa 'Ikaw Na' pero dumating na po siya dito sa ABS-CBN nang maaga dahil he went around, I think sa radyo at nag-promote ng kanyang concert the day after tomorrow. He couldn't wait because he was very tired, sa palagay ko, kakarating lamang," Abunda said during the program on Wednesday night.
"Yes, we did prepare for that interview, masakit man because I was a fan of James Ingram," he added.
As a talent manager and host, Abunda said he fully understands the moods of artists.
"Sabi ko nga kanina bago mag-umpisa, I'd rather not do an interview with someone who's not happy to do the interview. Pero ganoon talaga ang moods ng mga artista. Pero I feel for the promoters, they were very apologetic. Kami naman, sabi namin mabubutas ang aming palabas. Pero it really happens," he said.
Abunda quickly added: "But I have so much respect for the guy as a musician."
