Talent manager Annabelle Rama said learning how to give and take is the key to the success of her marriage to actor Eddie Gutierrez.
In an interview with DZMM's Rated K on Thursday morning, the celebrity couple shared their secret to a long-lasting relationship.
"Ngayon napapansin ko bigayan. Kunwari galit siya sa akin eh aalis ako ng bahay. Una talaga, advice ko sa lahat ng nakikinig, kailangan may trabaho ang babae. Kasi noong araw, wala akong trabaho, housewife lang ako, kaya ang dami kong imagination. Noong araw nagre-rent ako ng car, susundan ko lang siya. Noong nag-trabaho na ako at lumaki ang kambal ko, busy na ako eh, less na ang away namin. Hindi ko na siya masyadong sinusundan, kailangan busy ka," Rama said.
"Kapag nag-aaway kayo di niyo dapat pinapatulan. Kung halimbawa, mag-away kayo, konting sigawan, alis. Pagbalik parang walang nangyari... iwas muna," she added.
For Gutierrez, communication is also a key to a relationship.
"Hindi ko naman siya pinapagalitan. Minsan sinasabihan ko siya na hindi tama ang sinabing mo ito, pero tama naman ito. So pinag-uusapan namin," he said.
Rama aldo said that even if she's too busy with her work as a talent manager, she see to it that she will be able to provide all the things that her husband needs, including his meals for the whole day.
"Bago ako umalis ng bahay, lahat ng pagkain ng anak ko, ng mga apo ko, lahat pati pagkain ni Eddie lahat naka-prepare na 'yan. hanggang gabi na," Rama said.
In the interview, Rama and Gutierrez also shared how their relationship started and how they end up together.
Gutierrez said their love became stronger when they stayed abroad.
"Well nakita ko kung paano niya alagaan ang mga anak ko. Nakikita ko magaling magluto, mabait naman siya, hindi na siya nag-iiskandalo at sumusugod," he said.
Rama and Gutierrez are celebrating their 23rd wedding anniversary.
Defending his wife
In the interview, Gutierrez also defended his wife on the cases lodged against her by Nadia Montenegro.
Gutierrez said Rama really did her best to help Montenegro and her daughters.
"Totoo, talagang tinulungan niya itong pamilya na ito. Alam mo itong si Annabelle I want her to grow. Kaya nga she is what she is now," he said.
Gutierrez said even if he's not visible in media, he's really supportive of his wife's work and legal battles.
"Yes, supportive," he said.
